Efficiency for Access at COP29: Off-grid Cooling and the Energy-Agriculture Nexus
Efficiency for Access’ Jakub Vrba will join global experts at COP29 to share insights on sustainable cooling and off-grid solar innovations.
Efficiency for Access is pleased to announce that Jakub Vrba, Senior Research Lead, Energy Saving Trust, will represent the Coalition as a panellist at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Jakub will share insights from Efficiency for Access’ work on how off-grid solar appliances and technologies can help enhance quality of life and livelihoods for the world’s poorest people.
Jakub will take part in two discussions in the Blue Zone:
📅 Saturday 16 November, 5:00pm–6:00pm AZT, Sustainable Cooling in a Warming World (UK Pavilion)
Jakub will join experts from around the world in a session organised by the UK’s Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to support the Global Cooling Pledge, launched at COP28. He will discuss the latest insights and trends in off-grid cooling, highlighting the sustainable technologies and business models needed to reach more than 1 billion people who currently lack access to cooling. In a session hosted by REEEP and GOGLA, Jakub will explore how innovations in off-grid solar cooling, irrigation and agricultural processing technologies and solutions can help to build a resilient, low-emission, and high-value agri-food sector.
