Reading List

Published every six months by GOGLA, The World Bank Group’s Lighting Global program and the Efficiency for Access Coalition, this report explores sales and impact of off-grid solar lighting products and appliances, sold by GOGLA affiliates. It is the bedrock of information on the off-grid solar and energy-efficient appliances sector.

Efficiency for Access carried out field testing in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Senegal and India to evaluate the technical performance of solar refrigerators, solar water pumps and solar milking machines.

These reports evaluate the cold chain technology markets in India, Kenya and Nigeria. Each report identifies current trends, barriers and opportunities for market transformation, as well as strategies to accelerate the adoption of cold chain technologies for fresh food value chains at scale.

The Acumen Energy Summit in Kampala brought together participants from 70 organizations dedicated to advancing universal energy access. We had the privilege of sitting down with the Gold Award winning team, and discussing the story behind their environmentally beneficial design.

Identifying a range of concessional consumer financing (CCF) delivery models that could be adopted in energy access settings and positions CCF as a potential new tool in the toolbox of public funding interventions.
